Light Field-based Face Spoofing Attack Dataset (LF-SAD)

The LF-SAD dataset was developed to provide a useful dataset for the evaluation of the light field-based face spoofing attack detection. It consists of three spoofing attack types—high definition printed photo, warped printed photo, and a high definition screen displayed photo. All photos in this database were captured by Lytro ILLUM light field camera at Chu Hai College of Higher Education.

Energy Harvesting Fabrics for the Sustainable Development

Report Title: Energy Harvesting Fabrics for the Sustainable Development

Speaker: Dr. Bingang Xu

Data: 14 September 2018 (Friday)

Time: 10:00 ~ 11:00

Venue:  M08, Chu Hai College of Higher Education

Dr Bingang Xu is Associate Professor in the Institute of Textiles and Clothing at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has published over 150 book chapter, journal and conference papers, and also holds 11 granted patents. His research interests include wearable electronics, novel flexible sensors, energy harvesting / conversion / storage devices, and computer-vision assisted quality assurance. His recent work on flexible energy devices and computer vision model has been published in high-impact journals such as Advanced Materials (IF=21.950), Small (IF=9.598), Applied Catalysis B-Environmental (IF=11.698), and IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics (IF=8.803). As representative research innovations, his research teams consecutively won a Gold Award with the Congratulations of Jury in International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland, in 2017 and 2018, respectively.

Energy, like the food, is one of the most fundamental necessities of our modern society. With the fast development of global economy, there is a substantially growing need for clean and sustainable energies. It is also particularly important for the blooming smart and wearable electronics where power supply is needed for driving various portable devices such as LEDs, electrothermal units, Bluetooth/GPS trackers, antennas, and wearable sensors, etc. In this talk, some recent developments on the wearable and sustainable energy harvesting and storage devices will be introduced and discussed in details. Their applications towards the sustainable development will also be explored.
